Harpenden Mencap currently has a number of services that we offer to adults with learning disabilities within the local area. These operate out of three main buildings, Stairways, Pine Court and our Charity Shop.
The beautiful traditionally Edwardian period residence, houses the main offices, residential and Supported Living Service for Harpenden Mencap.
Up to 20 individuals with a learning disability can live here and be provided with our support.
With the aim to provide individual apartments that would be suitable for the people we support for as long as they wished to remain. The knowledge and skills of our architects made it possible for this dream to be realised.
The building houses the Domiciliary Service for Harpenden Mencap supporting 11 individuals living within their own flats as well as office areas for the staff.
Our charity shop located in Southdown provides opportunities for volunteers to aid our charity in raising money to better support those within our care and offers trainee placements for adults with learning disabilities in the local area.
