Volunteering
Harpenden Mencap depends on a great number of people who give up valuable time to help us meet our aims and you
could be one of them. Especially if you like meeting new friends, learning new skills and helping and caring for others who
are less able.
There are different ways you can volunteer and support Harpenden Mencap - for example, by assisting at the Roundabout
shop or the Leisure Clubs. And if you feel you're unable to commit yourself on a regular basis, we are always looking for
volunteers to help at our fundraising events (such as the annual flag days in Harpenden and Wheathampstead).
If you are interested in volunteering some of your time to helping Harpenden Mencap, please contact:

Employment Opportunities
Harpenden Mencap seeks to recruit appropriately qualified and experienced staff who share the commitment of providing
high quality services to people with learning disabilities.
The Society currently employs around seventy people who work in full or part time capacities. Every potential employee
is rigorously interviewed, referenced and checked through the Criminal Records Bureau before an offer of employment
is made. Each new employee follows a detailed induction programme, and throughout their employment staff attend relevant
training courses or complete the appropriate level of NVQ.
If you would like to apply for any of these positions, please contact:
